Kathleen M. McEntee, principal of KMA, is a business development strategist who brings more than 30 years of measurable achievement and leadership in general and international business management, marketing strategy, sales and business development, operations, product development, and C-level client relationship management. Kathy has experience in the full spectrum of business environments—profit and not-for-profit, international, public, private, and entrepreneurial. Highly respected as a visionary business builder, collaborative leader, dynamic speaker, and creative solutions provider, Kathy has a consistent record of delivering double-digit revenue and profit growth increases with such preeminent organizations as Abbott Laboratories, Cardinal Health Incorporated, Unisys, and ComPsych Corporation.
Kathy has held P&L responsibility for subsidiaries of up to $4 billion in gross revenues where she utilized her intuitive business savvy and strong marketing and implementation skills to transform corporate vision and strategy into profitable reality, increase market share, and develop key relationships and strategic partnerships with organizations such as Kmart, Walgreen Drug, Wal-Mart, and CVS. Her core areas of expertise range from client relationship management, strategic planning, and boardroom presentations, to international business development, market definition, analysis and positioning, and new ventures and channels of distribution.
Kathy specializes in quickly determining an opportunity or challenge, identifying solutions, and providing practical advice that can translate into measureable results. And, she thrives under the challenge of planning and managing demanding consulting projects and assignments. Kathy has created the When Smart Business Matters™ suite of tools to guide clients in articulating their vision of growth and developing a systematic plan to meet goals and objectives. Kathy’s bottom-line approach hallmarks her profitable sales and marketing initiatives, cost-reducing measures, and innovative solutions.
Kathy holds a bachelor’s degree in Business from Western Illinois University with subsequent professional development in Strategic Coach®, the Executive Leadership Development Programs of Abbott Laboratories and Cardinal Health, and the Leadership Coachella Valley program. Kathy is an alumna and member of the Advisory Council of Western Illinois University and is an accredited associate of The Institute for Independent Business.
Kathy’s professional activities include the following: Business Development Committee of the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce, advisor for Athena International, and member of the Executive Committee and board of directors member for the La Quinta California Chamber of Commerce. She is a regular columnist for the GEM, a La Quinta California publication, and has also been recognized by the City of Chicago for her participation in the Principal for a Day program.
