Dictionaries are still a ‘thing

Dictionaries are still a 'thing.' In fact, many marketers still reference dictionaries for definitions, spellings, synonyms, antonyms, examples and more. Cambridge (mostly used in the U.K.) and Merriam-Webster in the U.S. (yes, they are still around) are the most notable.

What many people don't know is that new words are added every year. There's a process and it's lengthy. But the process works, and new words - typically regularly used words that have almost become commonplace - are added all the time. In fact, Merriam-Webster added 690 words in 2023.

So, when someone starts talking about Doggo, Chef's Kiss, Rizz or Biohacking and you aren't quite sure of the context, there's always the old-fashioned dictionary. Some people still use it for inspiration!
